Kevin Naff has a pretty convincing editorial running in the Washington Blade this week. It centers on what the running mate selections of Senators Obama and McCain mean to their campaigns, our government, and issues of equality.

It was already enough of an insult that Republicans choose to start their convention on Labor Day, a holiday dedicated to working Americans (which the GOP used to attack unions and tout their out-of-touch economic policies).

I have spent most of this week doing media around the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota. Its been a rush of work, but I did take some time off to visit my favorite place on earth: the beauty queen butter sculptures at the Minnesota State Fair.

What?

My friends like to joke about how I am a bad gay.  Sure, I work for Stonewall Democrats but my life away from work is less-than fabu. 

Palin = Gross. No, really. Look up "political corruption" in the dictionary and she will be there.

When everyone was playing the "Guess Who?" vp game a couple of weeks back, I brought up Governor Palin. The consensus was pretty much "I think McCain would like to pick her, but all of her recent corruption charges will disqualify her."

I spoke to a guy here in Denver yesterday who told me "I'm to old to go out tonight...I need to stay home and wait for my text message." He was referring to his expected text (or is that txt?) from Senator Obama announcing his running mate.

He didn't have to wait long. The campaign shortly thereafter sent this text:
