The September 9th meeting is going to be exciting!

Who:

  • The Stonewall Democrats of Southern Nevada

What:

  • The visit and address to the membership by National Stonewall Democrats Executive Director, Jon Hoadley.
  • The opening of nominations for the position of Vice-chair.
  • The presentation of The Endorsement Committee's recommends.

Where:

  • The LGBT Center (953 E Sarah Avenue) in the Commercial Center (Sahara near Maryland Parkway)

When:

  • 6-7pm Social Hour
  • 7pm Meeting

This is set up to be an unusual one of a kind meeting in many ways. Because of the Labor Day Holiday we had to shift meeting days. This is the first meeting that will be chaired by new SDCSN Chair Chandler Levrich and we have the culmination of the many months of the Endorsement Committee. Joe Raba, our wonderful and charming Membership Committee Chairman, has stepped down and he nominated Jim Walsh to succeed him. Jim has been a great asset to the club and the Board welcomes him to his new position. Joe remains active on the committee. Many, many thanks to both of you! And if you didn't get the email,  a great shout out of gratitude to Judy Corbisiero for her many years of dedication to the club. Her devotion has been an inspiration to all that follow.

Perhaps the most significant reminder of the challenges LGBT families face in this state is the section of SB 283 considering workplace health care benefits. 642-105 exam

Simply put, employers are NOT required under Nevada law to provide health care benefits to domestic partners of employees as they do to other employees' married spouses. Luckily it is at least optional, so you'll continue to receive DP benefits at work if your employer already provides them. And if your employer or student of 70-526 exam doesn't yet provide DP benefits, you can still try to convince them to do so. Just don't expect the State of Nevada to make them do so... At least until we can improve the DP law. JN0-521 exam

... on a recent newlywed's three failed attempts at the DMV to change the last name on his driver's license to his new married name. The agency at first would not recognize his marriage certificate from California, basing their decision on Nevada's Defense of Marriage Act.

This woman married me and my husband by serendipitous accident. It may look weird, but they're is more hope in that crappy little office than can be generated by HRC right now, so that's something.

Please support her; she's a true ally, and we need true allies who don't have only their self interest at heart. Dave Byrnes and his producer Ian Millcrest are also potential allies. I owe them a debt of gratitude as well. We need to support those who support us.

I need help arranging debate watching parties
